Our Fold

The cattle featured here represent the foundation of our program at Creekside Highland Haven. Carefully selected for their strong conformation, compact size, and classic Highland traits, each animal contributes consistent quality in both phenotype and genetics. Our breeding decisions are guided by an emphasis on structure, coat, color, temperament, and overall balance, allowing us to produce calves that reliably meet our standards year after year. We prioritize animals that not only exemplify the traditional Highland look, but also thrive in a pasture-based, small-farm environment.
These individuals form the backbone of our herd and play a vital role in shaping the future of Creekside Highland Haven. Take a closer look at the individuals in our fold below.

With his striking coloration, fluffy coat, thick build, and gentle personality, Oliver stands out in all the right ways. At just two years old and standing 35” tall, he strikes the perfect balance of miniature size, strong structure, and undeniable presence. His sire Ferdinand measures 39” at 10 years old, and his dam — a compact 35” — adds consistency and depth to his frame.
He also comes from the same proven genetics as the famous Cesar, further adding to his already impressive profile.
Oliver has been collected for AI use only, and his first calves — produced exclusively through artificial insemination — are expected to hit the ground this fall. His influence is just beginning, and we couldn’t be more excited to see what he brings to the next generation.
He’s not just any bull — he’s the bull I dreamed of. Watching him grow into that vision has been one of the most rewarding parts of our journey. Oliver is the future… and he’s just getting started.

Chondro Positive – Miniature Highland Bull

Meet Hugo — our up-and-coming miniature Highland herd sire, and a perfect reflection of what we strive to produce at Creekside Highland Haven.
His sire is the legendary OhNo™️ of Rocking L Ranch in Buckley, Washington — a cornerstone in miniature Highland breeding, known for his incredibly compact 34.5” frame, thick coat, and proven ability to pass on strong, consistent traits.
Hugo’s dam, Doris, is one of our most cherished cows — standing 43” tall, with a calm, sweet nature, great structure, and a well-balanced udder. She’s a treat-lover and a favorite among visitors.
Now standing at just 33” tall at one year old, Hugo is staying true to his miniature genetics. With his deep fluff, sturdy build, and confident but gentle temperament — he’s the total package and one to watch as he steps into his role as a future sire.

BESSIE
Creekside Highland Haven’s Bessie is one of our original six, and she’s been stealing hearts ever since. Standing at 43.5” tall, this shaggy queen knows she’s the favorite — and isn’t shy about it.
You’ll often catch her poking her head into the side-by-side, demanding scratches and snacks like she owns the place (because honestly, she kind of does). Bessie’s personality is larger than life — sweet, bold, and sometimes a little too friendly — but that’s exactly why everyone falls for her.
She’s more than a Highland… she’s family.

MYRTLE
Myrtle is Bessie’s half-sister and another one of the original six that started it all at Creekside Highland Haven. At 44” tall and 4 years old, Myrtle brings quiet strength and classic Highland beauty to the herd.
She may not be quite as outgoing as her sister, but Myrtle has a calm, observant nature and a strong maternal instinct that makes her an exceptional mother. Her rich dun coat and excellent conformation turn heads — and she carries herself like she knows it.
Dependable, elegant, and true to the Highland standard… Myrtle is the kind of cow that makes a lasting impact.

ISABELLE
Isabelle is the daughter of Myrtle and the niece of Bessie… and somehow manages to be the perfect mix of both. She carries her mother’s quiet gentleness and strong maternal instincts, but don’t be fooled — she’s just as bold as her Aunt Bessie when it comes to demanding attention.
If the side-by-side stops, Isabelle’s head is already in it. She’s convinced every visit means it’s time for treats, scratches, and selfies. With her soft expression, friendly nature, and solid structure, Isabelle is everything we hoped for in the next generation at Creekside Highland Haven.
She’s proof that good genetics and a little bit of sass go a long way.

DORIS
Doris is our yellow brindle beauty -She is impossible to miss out in the pasture. At 7 years old and standing 44” tall, she’s matured into a stunning example of Highland femininity and strength.
Her thick structure, golden coat , and steady presence make her a favorite among visitors. Doris has consistently passed along those good looks and sturdy build to her calves, proving her value not just in the pasture, but in our program.
She’s sunshine in Highland form — and we wouldn’t be Creekside Highland Haven without her.

SPOOK
Spook is a stunning HighPark heifer and a true standout at Creekside Highland Haven. She’s just 34” tall at a little over 2.5 years old — and every inch of her is adored.
Her story is close to our hearts. Spook’s dam, Red, was a gorgeous 43” red Highland with an incredible presence. Tragically, we lost Red in an accident when Spook was just 4 months old. But her legacy lives on through this tiny powerhouse.
Spook’s sire is none other than Mojo, Chris Nelson’s famous 35” HighPark bull known for producing small-framed, heavily coated calves — and Spook is no exception. She’s the perfect mix of softness, structure, and style… and a total farm favorite.
We recently took her in for her first IVF session, and we’re beyond excited to carry her rare genetics forward.
Small in size. Big in legacy. Absolutely unforgettable.

OPAL
Opal is the kind of Highland that turns heads and adds lasting value to any program. This beautiful silver Highland cow brings a soft, feminine build, excellent structure, and that classic Highland fluff everyone loves.
She’s a cornerstone in our breeding program, passing along her calm temperament, impressive hair coat, and consistent size. With her silver genetics, Opal is an important contributor to producing rare colors in our mini and micro Highland lines.
Opal is the dam to several of our standout calves, including Midge, who’s carrying on the tradition of quality, color, and temperament that Opal represents.

LUCY
Lucy is one of the friendliest and most eye-catching cows on the farm. With her classic HighPark markings, fluffy coat, and calm personality, she’s exactly what we look for in our breeding program.
Lucy stands at 40” tall and brings both structure and sweetness to the pasture. Her disposition makes her a favorite among visitors, and she passes that gentle nature along to her calves — including her beautiful yellow daughter, Liza Jane.
Whether it’s her striking look or her calm, people-loving temperament, Lucy is a standout in every way.

MABLE
Mable holds a special place in our herd as one of our original six Highlands—and she remains the smallest of the crew. Don’t let her size fool you, though… she’s full of personality and carries the signature Highland look with those sweeping horns and fluffy coat.
Mable’s compact build and easygoing temperament make her an ideal fit for our mini-focused breeding program, and she continues to produce calves with excellent structure, hair, and presence.

LITTLE LUCKY DELILAH
Delilah is the definition of classic Highland style with her thick, double-coated hair and strong structure. She consistently produces beautifully built calves with the same heavy coat and correct frame we aim for in our breeding program.
With her rich red coloring and easy-going temperament, Delilah adds both quality and consistency to our mini Highland herd — helping us create calves with show-quality potential and undeniable curb appeal.
