Horns N Hooves
an educational podcast
Horns and Hooves is a podcast created by Highland cattle owners, for Highland and Highland Cross cattle owners who are tired of sorting through conflicting advice, internet myths, and costly mistakes. Hosted by Lori Racicky of Creekside Highland Haven and Taylor Hauser of Hausers Homestead, this show is built on real experience, real lessons learned, and real-life decision making on working farms.
We started this podcast because we’ve been there, second-guessing purchases, trusting the wrong advice, and learning the hard way when things didn’t go as planned. Raising cattle can feel isolating, especially when the stakes are high and the information online doesn’t match what actually works in the pasture. Horns and Hooves exists to cut through that noise and give you clear, honest, practical guidance you can actually use.
Each episode dives into the topics that matter most to everyday cattle owners, including farm economics, managing feed costs, buying and selling cattle, navigating auctions, and addressing the hard truths others often avoid - like size, temperament, quality, and long-term herd goals. We share real stories, expert insights, and candid conversations from people who live this life, not just talk about it.
More than just a podcast, Horns and Hooves is about building a strong, welcoming community where everyone from first-time buyers to seasoned breeders, can learn, grow, and feel confident in their decisions. If you’re looking for straight talk, proven strategies, and a place where Highland cattle owners support each other, you’re in the right place.
Tune in, subscribe, and join the Horns and Hooves community, because you don’t have to figure this out alone!
